The Van Slooten Collection: Studio Pottery Vessel No. 2

Some things are made once and never again.

This intimate studio pottery vessel is a rare example of Van Slooten's handcrafted work. He was a beloved ceramics teacher at Orange Coast College during the 1970s whose quiet legacy lives on in every piece he made.

Finished in a warm speckled glaze with the unmistakable character of a hand that knew clay deeply, this small vessel carries the kind of beauty that only comes from decades of practice and an artist who never made anything twice.

Display it on a shelf. Tuck a single stem inside. Set it on a breakfast tray beside your morning coffee.

Quietly luxurious in the way that only handmade things can be.

Part of the Bill & Evelyn Van Slooten Collection: rare studio pottery pieces by Orange Coast College ceramics teacher Van Slooten, 1970s. Each piece one of a kind.
